| Little Girl © 2004 Thomas M. Parker Once upon a time there was a little girl And her eyes sparkled like the sun. But, on her face she bore a thousand trials; And she had found no place to run. Voices calling - Take me under - Take me on in waves. Deftly creeping - Darkened alleys - Find someone to pay. Hear their voices touch you in the night. We see her everyday on the playground. A bed of sand on which to lay. Across the street there is a big old sign And on it says 'Save the Whales'. Throw more sticks on the fire. It's too dark to see. Voices calling - Take me under - Take me on in waves. Deftly creeping - Darkened alleys - Find someone to pay. Feel their voices touch you in the night. Well, once upon a time there was a little girl. And her eyes sparkled like the sun. But, on her face she bore a thousand trials. And she had found no place to run. And she had found no place to run.
