Yep, he is here… I just got caught in a 30 minute traffic jam on Highway 90 in east Biloxi thanks to our Prez. So, I get back to the office and see this article written by one Jennifier Loven of the Associated Press. The article wasn’t that great particularly… but, one statement towards the end jumped out at me:
“He is spending a little more time freely roaming Mississippi than harder-hit, less-recovered New Orleans.”
Say what? Have you ever been through a big hurricane, Jennifer? The Mississippi Coast was in the northeast quadrant of Hurricane Katrina… that’s the worst part of the storm to be in. New Orleans’ problem is the fact that they didn’t use the federal money earmarked for levee upgrades for the levees. They made their own bed and now want the Feds to lie in it.
New Orleans wasn’t “harder-hit” than Mississippi… there was - and is - as much devastation in Mississippi as there was in New Orleans. If not more. The difference is that Mississippians didn’t sit on their hands and whine about what “the government” was or wasn’t doing to help. We rolled up our sleeves and got to work cleaning up and rebuilding. Yet, all the media can focus on is New Orleans, New Orleans, New Orleans.
Why? I’ll tell you why… because New Orleans and Louisiana is run by a bunch of leftist Democrats who wrote the book on Big Government. That, and hedonistic New Orleans is party central… you know how left-wingers like to get all decadent and party, right?
Of course, it might have something to do with the fact that Mississippi has a Republican Governor, no? Maybe if the people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast had started raping and killing people and looting Walmart for beer and plasma televisions, we’d be the focus of media attention in regards to Katrina’s aftermath…
New Orleans harder hit? My ass. Go to hell, Jennifer Loven… I hear you’re a Democratic Hack anyway.
